Solidaridad"
When reading with a Beginning Reader,
its important to do the following:
The Goal of Beginning literacy include
the ability to:
"If you have any resentment, I beg you to put
it aside; If you consider me at fault, and this
fault is pardonable, forgive me.......We would
much like that you are resume writing for it;
not only would strenghten La Solidaridad but
we defeat the Friar intrigue in the philippines"

Marcelo H. Del Pilar's letter to Jose Rizal

(August 7 1892)
Did La Solidaridad Fail?
Reasons of Failure;
•Confiscation of newspaper issues in the mail
•Lack of fund to support the movement
•Friars were busy collecting money and making
them selves rich
•Many member wanted true change but were
caution of their wealth.
•The conflicts between Lopez Jaena - Del Pilar,
and Rizal - Del Polar
• No strong Leader aside from Rizal
• Spain government did not agree to any its
demands
Why the Propaganda Movement
Failed?
• The Spanish high officials in spain were to busy
with their own problems to listen to the collective
voice of reformist.
• The reformist in Spain and in the Philippines did
not have the necessary financial means with which
to make their campaign effective. Funds were
particularly difficult to get because of the most
patriotic Filipino had no money to finance such a
big project
•The Friars in the Philippines had influential friend
and supporters in Spain. These supporters opposed
the introduction of reforms in the Philippines.
Against the rich and the powerful friars.
Thank you.....!
