 Economic welfare:- promote economic
development.
A part of social welfare which covers a broad
field and connotes a state of well being,
happiness, satisfaction, conservation &
development of human resources.
1. Total concept:- desirable state of
existence involving physical, mental, moral
& emotional well being.

2. Social concept:- welfare of man, his family


& his community.

3. Relative concept:- welfare is relative in


time and place.
According to oxford dictionary:-

Efforts to make life worth living for workmen.


 Statutory :- implemented through coercive
power of government. Example:- all laws like
standing orders etc.

 Non-statutory or voluntary:- taken by


employer voluntarily. Example:- providing
accommodation … different perks
 Intra mural:-
mural within the precincts of the
establishment. Examples :- canteens,
crèches, rest rooms, library etc.
 Extra mural:-
mural outside establishment.
Examples:- transportation facility,
insurance, cultural activities,
accommodation, club membership.

 Functional theory:-
theory if employer take care of
workers then they will be more productive.
