 Innovation in ELT
For Teaching English i using Workplace application as the
innovate and the target learner is Senior High School.

Purpose

This innovation is like a second plan for teacher if

something happen, i mean like Covid-19. The
current condition requires us to stay at home, such
as Work from home, Study from home and other
activities. And “Workplace” is one of the innovation
that teacher can use for learning process.
Workplace is a communication tool that connects everyone in your
company, even if they're working remotely. Use familiar features like
Groups, Chat and Video Calls to get people talking and working together.
Be more productive by integrating your favorite apps from Microsoft,
Google, Dropbox and more. Workplace also the application that can
connect to facebook because both of them are same function, but
workplace more than spesific and we can use workplace for learning
process.
 What will i do in Workplace
Application
• First meeting i will teach the students how to make an account in
Workplace and how they using that application.
• Second meeting i wiil give instructions for students the rules that
will be applied in the learning process using the workplace for
example : students must prepare themselves before the learning
process begins, students must be active in the learning process such
as question, answer, giving comments, suggestions or additions.
• Third meeting i will give the students assignment based on our topic
by using workplace, for example : descriptive text and so on.

learning process activities using this workplace are useful for

making students less confident when in class but when using online
applications students will feel free give their opinion and so on that
make them more confident. Learning activities using the workplace are
useful for practicing their speaking skills.
 LEARNING PROCESS
• Teacher ask to students for make groups, each
group has 3 members.
• Each group was asked to make a video conversation
about something that was interesting to discuss at
this time the example covid-19, social distancing
and so on.
• The video will they upload in workplace
• Other students can give their question, suggestion,
comment, and addition.
