 Christmas is a wonderful holiday.
 It is a birth of Jesus Christ.
 It is celebrated on 6th January
 Families go to church and listen to
Christmas sermons.
 All the family gather together around
one big table.
 People prepare 12 meatless and
milkless dishes for Holy Supper.
 Kutia – the main dish of the supper,
cooked with wheatberries, poopy
seeds, honey, nuts and raisins or rice
and stewed fruit.
 People say the prayer before tasting
the supper.
 We visit relatives and friends, go
from door to door, bring the supper –
vecheria.
 We sing Christmas carols – Koliadky,
wish health and wealth, and the
people give sweets and money to us.
 We can collect many grivnas.
 The drama group prepare a vertep
performance on the main avenue.
 It is the way haw we celebrate
Christmas in Ukraine.
