The GANDHI AND HIS FIRST REBELIONS • Gandhi began to be a influence in 1893 in the city of South Africa, Natal, fighting against the laws that discriminated against the induistas. • In 1984 he founded the first Indian party in South Africa to fight for civil rights that were violating them • At the age of 36, he practiced celibacy and in 1907 through his philosophy based on attachment and devotion to the truth, a reason that the Indians protested nonviolently, against the unjust laws that were imposed on them. GANDHI “GREAT SOUL” • Gandhi's most important actions, such as hunger strikes to death, made his partisans give him the name of a great soul. • The hunger strikes and their philosophy were very representative at the time for many people to support him • The most relevant event of Gandhi was the hunger strike which helped in the independence of India in 1947, this indepence successfully ended a summer of violence and bloodshed in a cruel civil war between Muslims and Hindus. GANDHI AND HIS LAST YEARS • in 1944 while Gandhi was in prison, his wife died. Then he suffered from malaria, forcing him to gather in his naturist beliefs in order to survive. • When he was cured of malaria, Gandhi gained a lot of political power from the British, so he could suspend the fight and have more influence between induistas and Muslims. • In 1948 he was killed at 78 by a fellow Hindu militant could not tolerate his point of view. That Muslims and Hindus were equal and that no religion was superior to another.
