2. Life rafts
It is a small rigid or inflatable boat carried for emergency evacuation in the
event of disaster abroad a ship .
PROCEDURE FOR LAUNCHING

• Thrown container over board

• Sharply pull the rope

• Jump overboard and swim into the raft

• Help others, throwing them a life buoy of equipment set

• With knife cut the tether

• With the paddle quickly row away from the vessel

3.Lifejackets
Life jacket is a sleeveless jacket made up of buoyant or inflatable material used to
keep human body afloat in water . Two popular type of life jackets used onboard
are inflatable life life jacket this jacket need inflation for buoyancy
And it automatically inflated when immersed in water
Procedure for launching

• Button up life jackets

• Button up the side straps
• Button up zipper and klickverschluss
• Make sure that the life jackets does not rub the neck chin underarms does not
slipup when trying to pull the other person for the other persons for the shoulder
straps

designed for ship to ship and ship to shore operation as well as for the rescue
of people in distress in sea
Procedure for launching
• Remove the front cover and point the desired flight direction

crews during emergencies . A survival radios forms one of the most essential
parts of survival tools of marine industry . The emergency radio is approved
internationally under the global maritime distress safety system . An

7. Life buoys
These are the common life saving appliances present in all small and large
vessels they are fitted around the premier of the ships weather deck are ment
to be thrown rapidly to a person over board
A man over board is a common occurrence and these buoys provide the fastest
aid for flotation in such a case

suits which comply with the regulation in addition a thermal protective aid must
be provided for every person who is to be accommodated in the lifeboats. Who
is not provided with an immersion suit

INTERNSHIP DISSCUSION
• I got a chance to do my internship in MPT goa the best port
• our work place was TUG BOAT called TIRACOL under the guidence of cheif
engineer chandan
• We went for bearthing and unbearthing of ships it was a good experience
in sea
• Then after that we started the watch keeping in tug and observed the
working of staffs during starting the engine
• Then we started to takedown the engine room layout by the guidence of
cheif engineer mr chandan
• Then we learned how to do line tracing
• Then cheif engineer explained us about all life saving appliances
• And we learned about fire prevention and control
• It was one of our best experience of doing our internship in MPT
