• United Nations: Poverty is the inability of having

choices and opportunities, a violation of human
dignity.

Absolute poverty: A situation where individuals

don’t have access to basic requirement of life-food ,
shelter and clothing.
Relative poverty: is a poverty measure based on a
poor standard of living or a low relative to rest of
society
 CAUSES OF POVERTY

• Unemployment
Unemployment rate in 2010 was 5.5 and 5.6 in 2011,
the current rate is 6.0
• Overpopulation
The current population of Pakistan is
197,015,955,making it the world's sixth most-
populous country.
• Corruption : Every one is trying to earn more and
more by using fair and unfair means.
• some corrupt people has been occupying the
resources and common man is living in miserable
conditions, which brings more poverty in the state.
• Institutes have failed to provide justice to common
citizen
• Inflection:
Poverty in Pakistan is increasing because of
general rise in price of all products in Pakistan.
