He also describes in detail how to communicate with a patient, when Avicenna says:
“… upon visiting a patient, the physician should sit next to him in a way that is in front
of him so that he could see his face and listen to him well. He should only ask the
questions that provide necessary information for his diagnosis and treatment: the
physician ought to avoid extraneous and unnecessary questions. The physician should
limit the visiting time to the required length in a compassionate and respectful manner.”
