Tend to make more narrative
approach
Using opening paragraphs as scene-
setting narrative hooks instead of the
delivery of the most important facts.
Tells a story
Editorial Writing
Presents the newspaper’s opinion on an
issue.
Reflects the majority vote. It is usually
unsigned
Build an argument which tries to persuade
readers
Meant to influence public opinion

Reports on sporting topics and games


Sports journalist do not concern themselves
with the serious topics covered by the news
desk
Sports coverage has grown in importance-
wealth, power and influence
