• Connect the Controller network ports
• Connect the AC power to the two power modules
• Connect the management host to the controller network
• Using the USB CLI cable or by discovery of controller IP on the network set the controller IP address,
netmask and gateway. (DHCP mode by default, if no DHCP server, controller A IP is 10.0.0.2, controller B is
10.0.0.3)
• Connect the data hosts to the controller enclosure
• Use WBI or the CLI to set the array configuration parameters (WBI Configuration Wizard)
• Plan your storage configuration after installation. (WBI Provisioning Wizard)

Applying a IP Address

At the prompt (#), type the following command to set the IP address for controller A
set network-parameters ip <address> netmask <netmask> gateway <gateway> controller a

At the prompt (#), use the same command to set the IP address for controller B except indicate controller B by
replacing the “a” at the end of the command with “b”

Type the following command to verify the new IP addresses:

show network-parameters

Verify Ethernet connectivity by pinging the IP addresses from a different system

– Other end of Ethernet cable connected to a network that the management host can access (preferably same
subnet)
– Connections must be made with shielded cables, grounded at both ends, with metallic RFI/EMI connector
hoods, in order to maintain compliance with NEBS and FCC rules and regs.
• Access array via
– SSH
– Telnet
– HTTP/HTTPs
– SNMP
– SMI-S
