Welcome to Distance Learning (e-learning)!
For the distance learning (e-learning) program,
we recommend establishing routines similar
to good homework routines, such as:
 1. Set Up a Designated
Workspace:

• Establish a quiet work place with limited

distractions
• what kind of environment is truly most
effective?
• Think about your child’s personality and
needs
• create a workspace tailored to him or her,
• Have a direct conversation with your
child about where and how he or she will
be most comfortable completing online
coursework
• The child must have a desk and
comfortable chair in the room.

Google Classroom?

Think of Google Classroom (GC)

as your child’s digital link to
learning.

Teachers use GC to share

newsletters, and much more with
students AND parents!

login and password that is unique to them.

Check with his/her teacher to obtain this

private information OR ask them to add
you as a parent via email!

4. Stay in Communication with Your
Student’s Teachers:

• Teachers still play an absolutely critical

role in e-learning—and maintaining open,
frequent communication is key to
student success.
• If you discover you are missing
materials, contact your child’s teacher
directly. They are very creative and can
help you brainstorm how to substitute an
item.
• Reach out to the teacher immediately if
you have questions. Your building
principals can be helpful as well.
