Before you plan for trek

What to do in research?
• Know about base village (destination village if needed)
• Collect contact numbers / contact them to know
current situations, rates, facilities
• Transport facility, Train, ST Timings
• Any specialties of that location (Places to see)
• Budget estimate
• History of place, Mythological significance, Plants and
Animals in that area
• Complete virtual trek
Before your Trek
• Contact villagers and drivers, give them exact
count
• Check your bag, shoes and all other stuff
• Check your health, Outside weather
• Do not forget your Map, any planning papers
On the day of Trek
• Leave early in calm and composed mood
• Make sure you have enough cash with you
• Do not rush to catch Trains
• Inform your family members about your
return time
• Have a conversation with local villagers
• Try to stick with your schedule
• “EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED”
After you return from Trek
• Take a hot/cold water bath
• Settle down and clear all budget related
queries
• Share Pics
• Study about unique things (Any flower, snakes,
plants, monuments, etc.)

Catch Chennai mail (11027) at Dadar 11.52pm
or kalyan 12.37 AM (saturday)
OR
• Catch ST bus going towards Lonavala
*Saturday 12 Oct*  -
•Reach Lonavala station by 2.30 AM
•Phase 1
Leave for valvand village, 10-12 kms walk, reach valvand by 5.30 AM and take Break
Get Ready at 6.30 am and finish morning chorus/ breakfast.
•Phase 2
Start from valvand till kondeshwar temple trek
Reach kondeshwar temple (landmark)
•Phase 3
Start trek towards trail to dhak bahiri
Reach Dhangar wadi
•Phase 4
From Dhangar wadi till Kusur plateau, Reach Kusur plateau (landmark) then trek towards Kusur village
(watch our for electric pole , it should be on left side on the trail towards Kusur village)
2.30 pm - Take private vehicle from Kusur village to reach Sawla village OR Talpewadi
Reach Sawle or Talpewadi village and have lunch
•Phase 5
4pm - start trek to padharwadi village via Wandre khind
6.30 pm - reach Wandre khind (torch needed )
•Phase 6
7.30 - 8 pm - reach Padharwadi village from Wandre Khind
Have dinner, take rest, Night stay
• *Sunday 13 Oct*

5.30 AM wake-up
6.30 AM finish morning chorus and breakfast
• Phase 7
7 AM - start trek towards bhimashankar, Kamlijai temple is an
important landmark for this trail
• Phase 8
11.30 AM - 12 PM - reach Gupt bhimashankar from Kalamjai temple
1 PM - reach bhimashankar temple and have darshan
• Phase 9
2.30 PM - start descending to Khandas base vilage via Ganesh Ghat
7 PM - reach khandas and arrange vehicle for neral station
Catch local towards mumbai
