Jesus entered Jericho and was passing


through. A man was there by the name

of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector


and was wealthy. 3 He wanted to see who
Jesus was, but because he was short he
could not see over the crowd.

So he ran ahead and
climbed a sycamore-fig
tree to see him, since
Jesus was coming that
way.

When Jesus reached the spot, he
looked up and said to him,
“Zacchaeus, come down
immediately. I must stay at your
house today.” So he came down

at once and welcomed him gladly.

All the people saw
this and began to
mutter, “He has gone
to be the guest of a
sinner.”

But Zacchaeus stood up and said
to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and
now I give half of my possessions
to the poor, and if I have cheated
anybody out of anything, I will pay
back four times the amount.”

Jesus said to him, “Today
salvation has come to this
house, because this man, too,
is a son of Abraham. For the

Son of Man came to seek and


to save the lost.”

Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the
gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which
you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved,
if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise,
you have believed in vain.

For what I received I passed on to you as of first
importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the
third day according to the Scriptures,

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new
creation has come: The old has gone, the
new is here!

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was
good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also
desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate
it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with
her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them
were opened, and they realized they were naked; so
they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings
for themselves.

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord
God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the
day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of
the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where
are you?”

He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was
afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have
you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat
from?”

For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from
whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its
name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may
strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your
inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts
through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and
established in love,

In Him we have redemption
through His blood, the
forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of
His grace
We may appear weak, look
weak
But still God sees us more
than conquerors
(through Him who loved us).
KNOWING and
BELIEVING that you are
completely forgiven
destroys the power of sin in
your life.
