What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup in a comfortable private
vehicle, where you can settle back for a scenic ride to
Chichen Itza, one of the Yucatan’s most spectacular
sites.
Learn about the history and culture of the powerful
Mayas, from their unique pantheon of gods to high-
tech astronomical discoveries. Admire the stone-
carved serpent heads on the gigantic stepped
pyramid of El Castillo and discover the deadly secrets
behind Juego de Pelota (Great Ball Court), where
sports tournaments ended in humans acrifices.
After touring the park—the Yucatan’s largest
archaeological site—stop for an authentic buffet
lunch and enjoy a guided tour of the colonial town
of Valladolid. Before heading back to your hotel,
you have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to cool
off in a limestone swimming hole, known as a
cenote. Considered sacred by the Mayas, these
underwater caverns make for a memorable dip.
