VIDEO CARD
VIDEO CARD is
commonly known as
graphics accelerator card,
display adapter, or
graphics card. This is a
hardware component
whose main function is to
generate and display the
output images to a
computer monitor.
Video adapter vary in their slot compatible. New
video cards use PCI-e slot, the newest slot . The
other slots used by video cards are AGP and PCI
PCI-e or Peripheral Component Interconnect Express is
originally known as 3rd Generation I/O (3GIO). This is
designed to replace PCI and AGP and is available in several
different formats: x1, x2, x4, x8, x12, x16 and x32.
AGP
AGP is short for Accelerated Graphics Port. Unlike PCI slot,
AGP is designed especially for the throughput demands of 3-D
graphics.

PCI
PCI is short for Peripheral Component Interconnect. PCI is a 64-
bit bus, though it is usually implemented as a 32-bit bus. It can
run at clock speeds of 33 or 66 MHz. At 32 bits and 33 MHz, it
yields a throughput rate of 133 Mbps. Although it was developed
by Intel.
