Matter may undergo changes.

One of these
is physical change. A physical change is one which
does not alter chemical composition of a
substance. Phase change is brought about by the
addition or removal of heat. When heat is added
to solid, it melts. In contrast when heat is removed
from solid, it becomes solid. When heat is added
to liquid it becomes water vapor. When heat is
removed from water vapor, it becomes liquid.
Further removal of heat from liquid changes it into
solid phase.
