 DEBATE MECHANICS
1. Each debating team is composed of three speakers including the
team captain.
2. The modified Oxford-Oregon Type of Debate (2-1-2) will be
used.
3. The speaker will alternately present their arguments with the
first speaker of the affirmative side speaking first.
4. The first speakers should tackle the main point/practicability
aspect of the issue, the second speakers the content/necessity
and the third speakers will conclude the beneficiality.

5. The timekeeper will ring the buzzer for last 10 seconds of each
allotted time for the speaker/interpellator to wrap up his
speech/questions.
6. Each speaker is questioned as soon as he concludes his
constructive speech.
7. In the questioning period, the interpellator may ask any fair, clear
question that has direct bearing on the debate.
8. The adjudicators must base his decision entirely on the material
presented, without regard for other material which he may happen
to possess.

9. Delivery time for each speaker shall be:
1st Speaker-Affirmative (Constructive Speech) : 2 minutes
Interpellation by 1st Speaker-Negative : 1 minute
1st Speaker-Negative (Constructive Speech) : 2 minutes
Interpellation by 1st Speaker-Affirmative : 1 minute
2nd Speaker-Affirmative (Constructive Speech) : 2 minutes
Interpellation by 2nd Speaker-Negative : 1 minute
