What is Registration?
 Registration is a simple administrative
procedure, that requires project
proponents to officially declare their
intention to engage in a particular
activity.
 Developers are legally required to
register their conceived project
concepts or proposals.

Objectives of Registration

1. To alert an agency responsible for EIA


on what comes in the nearest future
2. To avail technical advices to
developers on policy, legal,
procedural and institutional matters
3. To facilitate developers to start EIA
processes as earlier as possible.

1. Enhance earlier and better
planning of EIA processes
2. Avoid/minimize
misconceptions and/or
disputes in EIA processes and

Approaches to Registration
 Proponent/Consultant fills-in specially
prepared forms that have guiding questions
 Generally the following information is
required:
1. Objectives, type, and size of the project
2. Possible location(s) of the project
3. Project demand in terms of land area, raw
materials, services/utilities, labour force, etc.
4. Tentative project development plan (i.e at different
phases).
5. Description of the project's socio-economic and
biophysical environment.
6. Envisaged future extension of the project activities
