NAVIGATION IN T24

Objective

► To understand how to navigate in T24

► To know the actions that can be performed by user


Navigation in T24

Could be done through any of the 3 methods


 Browser
• Light client. Need not be installed on each of the client machine
• Ideal for end users, especially in large installation
 Desktop
• Thin client. Needs to be installed on each of the client machine
• Through out connectivity automatic validation
• Useful for super users during implementation and afterwards
Classic (Character based)
• Useful for running COB operations
• Meant for System administrators

All the three are complementary products ensuring basic functionality,


but, each with exclusive features
Browser Logging on to T24

► Intranet based solution to serve as front end for T24


• Use Internet Explorer / Netscape Navigator to log on to T24
• Type the URL in address bar of Internet Explorer / Netscape Navigator

• In the T24 Sign On Screen, specify Sign on Name and Password

Navigating Through Menu

When User logs in to T24, a User Menu is displayed.


By clicking on the Menu, we can get into sub menus, if any and then into
Applications, Enquiries or Reports attached there to.

Navigating Within a Record
Accessing / Creating a record

After accessing an Application , we can


 List and get an existing record
 Input a specific ID either to get an existing record or to create a new record with that
ID
 Create a new record by pressing the icon meant for that in applications enabled
with automatic Id creation

Mandatory fields are usually depicted by asterisk symbol

Deal Menu Options

This is the basic Deal menu of Browser


But actions are customized based on the
selection of application and their functions
Deal Menu Options – Copying And Pasting Records

Useful when one wishes to create copies of existing records


Can copy records from various applications
Copied records will be stored in Model Bank clipboard
Copied records will be held in clipboard until the user logs off
When pasting data – the last copied record of the application will be pasted

Reversing a Record

Reverse function is used to remove a record from the list of live records
Once reversed the records are moved to History file
- Icon for Reversal of deal
If necessary the Reversed records can be retrieved back into Live file
Reversal is not allowed in some applications like CUSTOMER
Usage allowed only on the same day in some applications like TELLER and
FUNDS TRANSFER

Deleting a Record

Any record if authorized cannot be deleted, it can only be reversed


Records in Unauthorized status can be deleted, if needed
- Delete a deal
Once a record is deleted, it cannot be retrieved back

History Restore

History Restore means putting back a record into live file that exists only in
the history file
Select the application from the menu
Enter ID of the record to be restored, Click More Actions
Choose the Function History Restore

Deal Menu Options - STATUS

This set of options indicate status of the record. System highlights the
correct status and only meant for information
 Capture
• When a record is ready for input / data to be captured
 Validate
• When a record is successfully validated. Still to be committed
 Errors
• When validate / commit action results in error. Filed names and error, in brief mentioned
 Clicking on the error, takes you to the respective field to enable suitable input
Deal Menu Options - STATUS

Overrides
 This is highlighted when the commit / validate action resulted in overrides and
warnings
 Option available to inputter to accept overrides for committing
Ready for authorization
 When the record is committed and available for authorization
Authorized
 Highlighted when an authorized record is opened

Two options that can be used to search files

FIND to list as per selection
 Selection operands for FIND option are

Both options search on Live, Unauthorized and History Files

Enquiry presents select information on line in pre defined form


 List of accounts of a Customer
 List of loans of a Customer with outstanding balance
 Enquiries are available under Menus / Sub Menus
In addition, context sensitive enquiries available for the application currently
open

Reports are prepared as part of batch run


 They could be generated and stored for pre-defined periods and / or printed
 Daily General ledger, Weekly report on over dues, Monthly report to Central bank
COB reports available through Menu / Sub menu
Saving Output in Other Formats

The Search / Enquiries result can be opened or saved as


 CSV
• Output will be saved as Microsoft Excel Comma Separated File in any opted location
 HTML
• Output will be saved as “.html” file in any opted location

Record Status and Audit Log

All records, other than live, exhibit their status towards the end of the record
 INAU. INA2, INAO, IHLD, REVE, RNAU, HNAU
The Audit Log is an important part of any record and exhibits important
information towards the end of the record
 The Current Number, Who Input the record, Date and time of the last action on the
record, Who Authorized the record, Auditor’s name and time of audit

Access CUSTOMER application from MB User Menu


Fill in the relevant fields required
Commit this record

Select ‘Authorize/Delete customer’ from MB User Menu


List all unauthorized records.
Note the Id of the last record
Authorize the Customer record
Check whether your record is authorized

Open a USER record and list the existing users


Execute the function copy and paste
Modify the user name and sign on name of the existing user
Get this record saved and authorized
Make a note of your sign on name as you are going to use this in future
Log out of T24 Model Bank
Sign In again to T24 using New user name and password
