Teaching and Learning in the new

normal education
 Online learning is both a convenience and a challenge. It gives you a
great deal of flexibility…but with that freedom comes great
responsibility (to quote Eleanor Roosevelt). When you study online,
you need dedication, self-discipline, and likely many cups of coffee.
1. Google Classroom
 Their service for educators is a great way for
online teachers to stay organized and track
progress through their lesson plans. No matter how
many students or courses are being taught, Google
Classroom is an incredible resource for staying on
track.
 2. Zoom
 Zoom is a powerful cloud video conferencing
platform that allows you to host “meetings”
with hundreds of participants. Using the
Zoom app, educators can share lesson plans,
give instruction, swap files with students, and
communicate directly with the group or
individuals via chat, all within the app.
 3. Google Meet, also known as Google Hangouts Meet, is
built to let dozens of people join the same virtual meeting,
and speak or share

 Go to meet.google.com (or, open the app on iOS or Android,
or start a meeting from Google Calendar).
 Click Start new meeting, or enter your meeting code.
 Choose the Google account you want to use.
 Click Join meeting. You'll have the ability to add others to
your meeting, too.

4. Video chat
 Skype for 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions
 Google Hangouts for group online tutoring sessions. Invented for online
instructors. It not only lets you create free videoconferences for up to 10
people, but also records the session via YouTube and turn the conversation
into an archived presentation for other students and later viewings.
Both Skype and Google Hangouts (free for unlimited use, though Skype
offers a premium plan for group calling) are mature products that work well
and provide most of the same features: free 1–1 video or voice calls, screen
sharing, file sharing and chat.

messaging service that provided both text and voice communication..
4. Document collaboration
 Google Docs, enough said. Simply the best
online document collaboration tool for
tutoring.

1. Double Exclude
 

Search Command: Results Include:

All pages that rank for brownie recipe except those that

brownie recipe -milk -eggs
include milk or eggs.

You can mix and combine all of these Google Search commands to better
refine your query.

Add a space and then another negative keyword to omit more than one. This
example search will give you brownie recipes that include neither milk nor
eggs.
 2. The Boolean Search

 3. The Tilde to Thesaurize

Pages that have words similar to large, such

The tilde symbol generally means approximately, about,

or around in English, and placing one just before a search
term will broaden your query to match. Note that synonym
searches are the default now, so this is all but redundant.

You can easily use Google Search to remind you of an

upcoming holiday, so you can plan accordingly. Note that
if a holiday has just passed, it will show you that one—
the current year’s date, rather than the future date.
