 6 Internet Safety Tips YOU Should Know
1. Keep your passwords a secret except from your parents
2. Never talk to strangers unless you are accompanied by an adult
3. Do not give your phone number to anyone without your parent’s
permission
4. When you see something inappropriate online, close the screen
and advise an adult
5. Do not download anything onto your device without seeking
approval from a grown-up or it could cause serious damage
6. Only share and say nice things, always be kind following proper
netiquette rules

1. Establish rules for using the internet and electronic
devices
2. Ensure that your child never gives out personal
information
3. Screen the websites and apps that your child is using
4. Know who your child’s online friends are
5. Situate the computer in a common space so you can
monitor what they are doing or have them use their
device in eye’s view
