Abstract

 To generate the electricity with the help of VAWT (Vertical axis wind turbine).
The VAWT is Use for generate the D.C. Power.
 A VAWT does not nee to be oriented into the wind of the power transition
mechanisms can be mounted on ground level for easy access.
 For generating the power it is depend on the velocity of the wind But we
assured that VAWT is generate generate the fixed D.C. output which is
depend on the velocity of the wind.
Concept Design

Criteria Optimal Choice Alternatives

Configuration H-Rotor Darrieus Full Darrieus, Helical Darrieus, Savonius

# of Blades 3 2 to 4
Material Selection

 The material should be choosen for VAWT is applicable for all environments, it includes
high strength , high stiffness , low density , long life , good corrosion resistance ,
especially low temperature tolerance.

Parts materials

 We choose ALUMINIUM ALLOY (AL) material to manufacture the Turbine blades,

because it has low density, good corrosion resistance , high strength & stiffness.
 Wing holder - Mild Steel (MS)

 Shaft – Mild Steel (MS)
