PAPER TEST
•Hold a white piece of paper up to
your face. Looking in a mirror, try
to see how your skin looks in
contrast to the white paper.
•Warm skin tone- skin appears
yellowish or sallow beside the white
paper
• Cool skin tone- skin appears pink,
rosy, or blueish-red
•Neutral skin tone- If you can't
determine any cast of yellow or pink
BURN VS TAN
If tan easily and rarely burn, you have more melanin and you
likely have a warm tone.
If your skin burns and doesn't tanned, you have less melanin and
therefore a cooler skin tone.
If you tan slowly, but don’t burn very often, you’re most likely
neutral.
JEWELRY TEST
•Use gold and silver jewelry to find your skin tone. Think of not
what you like best, but what makes you look best, like glowing and
radiant. 
•warm skin tone- looks best in gold
• cool skin tone- looks better in silver the reflection from the silver
jewelry
•If you don't notice a difference (both silver and gold are flattering),
then you likely have a neutral skin tone
