Important
We can use
• Water based primer with water based foundation.
• Water based primer with silicone based foundation.
• Silicone based primer with silicone base foundation.
And we CANNOT use a silicone based primer with a water based foundation.
Reason: won’t “stick” both products.
Its better to use the same base primer as the foundation.

Oil based foundation

Perfect for dry skin for the extra healthy glow.
Won’t be recommended to use on oily skin or even combination skin.
Can’t be used with water based primers.
Tip for oily skin: use only 1 drop of face oil just to make the foundation super luminous.

EYE SHAPES
Almost different shapes;
• Almond eyes • Round eyes
• Wide set • Deep set eyes
• Close set • Down turned eyes
• Hooded eyes • Small eyes
• Big protruding eyes • Asian eyes

1. Almond eyes
The perfect shape; literally the perfect!

2. Wide set eyes

- These eyes have noticeable difference between both eyes.
- Makes face broader.
Eyeshadow: start from darker from the inner corner. Shift to same shade to inner corner. Apply
liner on the inner corner. Don’t put extended liner. Don’t stretch the liner.
Eyebrows: see if you can make the eyebrows closer with powder shading.

3. Close set eyes

Normally very closed eyebrows make face asymmetrical.
Eyeshadow: emphasize more on the outer corner. Make the illusion of a under “V”. Stretch out
the outer corner.
Eyeliner: stretch out the liner. Emphasize on the outline.

4. Hooded eyes
Makeup vanishes behind the lids.

How to work on hooded eyes?
We use a medium tone shade over all the lid area to give a depth to the eyes. This gives the
impression that eyes are forward and lids are pushed away. Softly brush the darker shade that is
hooded. Do a cut crease (fake) to give the idea that there is a crease there. Apply shimmer, not
glitter.
Eyeliner: use a pencil liner along the lash line. Put white pencil in under the eyes.
Mascara (curler): curler is a must to use with hooded eyes to give lashes that fuller look.

5. Big protruding eyes

Goal is to make them smaller and downplay.
Eyeshadow: warm and dark shades so that we can give depth to the eyes.
(grey, dark brown, maroon)
Avoid metallic and glitter shades. Highlight the brow bone to catch light.
How to avoid big eyes?
- Bright lipstick
- Well shaped eye brows

6. Round eyes
Use light eye shadow taking the blend outwards. Use the eyeliner from the third part to out making
the eye lift.

7. Deep set eyes

Light colour on the full eye. Deep colour just above the socket of the eyes.
No liner! It will make the eyes deep (just a thin line).
Mascara only on top lashes.

8. Down turned eyes

Use a highlighter on brow bone and entire lid. Use a light eyeshadow in the transition dragging it
outwards.
Online Makeup Session
by
Sameera Shaheen Malik
Eyeliner: liner should be very close to the eyes and should be lifted upwards.
Apply 2-3 coats of mascara.

9. Small eyes
Use a light shade extending from your socket till your eyebrows. Use the same undertone but
darker colour in the socket. Use very soft strokes.
Eyeliner: dark liner. Start from the mid of the lashes and extend till the outer corner extending the
short lash line. Liner should be very sleek and thin.
Mascara: use the mascara in zigzag motion and use a mascara that lengthens the lashes. Avoid
clumpiness. Use two strokes. Apply on lower lash line aswell. Use both length and separation
mascara.

UNDERTONES
Never changes even when you get tan or skin issues.
Three main tones:
-Warm (golden/peachy)
-Neutral (mix)
-Cool (pink and bluish)
Stand infront of a mirror with a neutral light. Start focusing on the base and see.

Trick for cool undertone:

Skin burns very easily.
Veins also appear blue.

Warm tone:
People who get the tan easily have warm undertones.
Veins are green.

Neutral tone:
They first get burn, and then get tan.

PRACTICAL
HOW TO CHOOSE FOUNDATION

Black, white, red, yellow, blue face cream paint or lipstick.

We will make our own foundation by mixing primary shades. Once you’ll do this, you’ll be able
to easily match your foundation. You’ll know what to correct, what to put where.
Start guessing your undertone, if you know yours- PERFECT!
For example, I’m warm undertone. So I’ll put yellow as base tone.
Add white if your tone is light.
Now, to make it more warm, you can experiment and mix a little red.
Make sure you\re using very small amounts.
Now start adding peach.
At this point, you’ll have coverage + corrected skin.
Now add the base colour of your tone i.e. yellow to cancel out the redness.
Once you’re done adding yellow, if the foundation still looks dark, move on to the final step; start
adding white.

CONCEALERS AND TECHNIQUES
1. Skin
The most important part of the concealer is skin prep under eyes. Under eyes are usually very dry
so you need to prep your skin. And of course, make sure this area is hydrated all the time.
Reason why under eye creases:
Normally our under eyes are very dry so when we colour correct, put concealers or cream and then
set it, it’s a lot of product. It tends to just sit on our skin and makes the under eyes dragged. And
eventually, the under eye area looks more textured and dried.
“Eye cream is different than your moisturizer”
2. Eye primer
Use primer, not foundation or concealer, and put it on the lid and areas where you have creases.
Try using the RING COLOUR/FINGER because our body temperature helps in blending.
If you have very creasy skin, try using liquid concealers for light coverage, using pushing with
fingers.
(concealer base done)
3. Pressed powder
After priming, use a pressed powder to set the creases. Warm up the creasy area and set. Its gonna
help your makeup look less creasy.

Now, start with foundation and later concealing.

FOUNDATION
For skin prep;

eye primer
strobe
+ under colour
moisturiser primer cream for foundation
eyes for correcting
dewy skin
creases

After applying the foundation with a brush, take a dry beauty blender and spray your favorite mist
and start pressing. After you’ve applied the foundation, you can take the tissue papers start pressing
it with low to no pressure. This is gonna take off extra product.
Now set with ‘powder’ all over your face.
BLENDING IS THE KEY – this way its not gonna turn the foundation cakey.
After that, start your contour, blush, and highlighter.
Then take a fluffy brush, and some loose powder and apply it in the round motions. Its called
“BUFFING TECHNIQUE”. Its gonna blend the whole makeup together and will give a gorgeous
matte finish.

FORMULATION OF FOUNDATION
Try your foundation with different methods so that you get to practice more.
Oil + Foundation
This technique is such a great tip for people who have OILY and COMBINATION skin. Honestly,
oily skin people can also have this but preferably in winters.
So what’s the process?

2 pumps of foundation
+
2 drops of face oil

Apply in layers on the skin.

Blend for good 5 minutes.

CONTOURING
How to determine the face shape?
-Red lipstick
-Mirror

Take a red lipstick and start dotting the temples of your face, hairline and jaw lining.
Now, connect the dots and you’ll have a face shape. match it with one of the 7 face shapes online.

Types of Face

Oval Long face Square Face Round face Heart shape Diamond shape Pear face

• Narrow forehead • High forehead • wide forehead, • Round hairline • Heart shaped • Most prominent • Small forehead
• Small jawline • High cheekbones cheeks and and jawline hairline feature is • wide cheek bones
• accentuated • Long chin jawline • wide cheeks cheekbones • wider
jawline • small face • forehead thinner jawline/sharper
• sharp chin than cheekbones
but wider than
chin

Most important contouring tip

Never contour with a warm shade. Always contour with a grey colour toned product.
Reason: if you are going to contour with a warm tone… its gonna look extremely muddy.
(if you wanna bronze, you can use a warm toned product)
If you are feeling the grey contour ashy, now that’s where our bronzer will work.
For forehead and overall structure, try looking for shadows in your face and fill them.
And always remember;
Contour is meant to shadow your face to make it appear smaller. Don’t use it to bring back the
colour. That’s what “bronzers” are for.

CORRECTING YOUR UNDER EYES
TIPS AND TRICKS
Do we all have to colour correct?
Absolutely not!
We dont have to colour correct under eyes with a corrector if its not about “discolouration”.
Use a product with a little dark tone than your skin.
Once you have covered the area, now move as your face catches the light. Put light shade there so
that you will have a fuller eyes look.
