Basic Make-up

Your appearance in public demands a standard of excellence at all times and

more so when in uniform. A smart, wellgroomed countenance is essential; hair
should be well cut neat and flattering, make up should subtly enhance and
complement your skin, and jewellery worn must be smart and conservative.

Basic Beauty Tips:

➢ Before applying any make-up, work in a moisturiser and allow 10 min for it
to be absorbed.

➢ Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone and dot in on the areas of
the skin, which needs the most. Blend it on the rest of the face with a
damp sponge.

➢ Always use the blusher in the finishing stages. Choose the right color for
your skin tone and always brush it on the apple of each cheek.

➢ For a longer lasting lipstick, always outline the lip before applying lip color,
then blot with a tissue and reapply powder between layers. For best result
always stick to your natural lip line.

The smooth skin workout:

➢ There is nothing like a good jog to buff up your skin.

➢ Exercise jumpstarts the body's natural cleansing process.
➢ The increase in body temperature and circulation helps perspiration carry
sebum from pores to the skin's surface, where it evaporates.
➢ Result : A clear complexion.
➢ Help your skin help itself by washing your face post workout.

FOUNDATIONS

The wet usage ensures uniform coverage, while dry application keeps shine in
control.
Apply with a damp sponge to get a smooth finish. Loose powder is much better
than pressed.

GET CHEEKY

Opt for a very natural peach or pale pink inspired by babies cheeks to give you
the prettiest flush. Availabile in powder, matte, iridescent and glossy finishes,
they can be applied on the cheekbones. Concentrate on the apples of the cheeks
and keep smiling.

LIP SERVICE

Young women should avoid the penciled lip look. Instead, go for lip stains using
fingers or a lip brush. Apply gloss to lips, concentrating at the centre, than at the
corners, to avoid looking a fright. Shade lips along the natural lip line. Use
lipsticks that keep lips moisturised and have staying power. Use a lip balm and
stick to crème or matte lipsticks. Blend color well to avoid flaking and no frosted
lipsticks, please! The greasier the lipstick the more it bleeds.

UNDER COVER

To hide dark under eye circles, use concealer, preferably a shade lighter than the
color of the foundation. Blend carefully with a wet sponge over laugh lines. Keep
a compact in your purse to touch up when needed.

EYES RIGHT

➢ Stay clear of shimmery, frost eye shadows. Matte or glossy eye shadows
are preferred. Use black or brown eye pencils or lines, smudging them to

give a soft look.

➢ Apply highlighters to the brows for a stunning effect. Mascara with proteins
and ceramides provides eyelashes with much needed nourishment.

➢ A black kohl pencil as eyeliner drastically alters the whole face – It brings
out your eyes, cheekbones and eyebrows.

Facts about eye – make:

➢ Make it a point not to wear eye-make all the time. Always use good quality
products.

➢ However tired you are at the end of the day, ensure that you don't sleep
with your eye-make on. Pour a good quality eye-make up remover on
damp cotton to wipe away the make-up.

➢ If you are a contact lens wearer, first put on the lens and then apply eye-
make. Similarly at night, remove the lens first and then the make.

THE DEODORANT

Sweat doesn't smell until the waste minerals in it mix with the harmful bacteria
on the skin's surface. The deodrant kills the bacteria and neutralises the odour.
Look for a product that's heat/responsive and keeps reacting to your body
temperature.

PERFUMES

Do not use heavy perfumes for flying. Go for softer fragrances and eau de
toilettes.

BRUSHES STROKES

Page No : 3
PARAMOUNT AIRWAYS BEAUTY TIPS

Brushes for a non professional.

➢ Get your self five. A soft pointed lip brush, a medium size, domed blusher
brush, which doubles as a powder brush, a flat, straight brush to sweep
shadow over the lid, a square tipped, stiff brush for blending, applying brow
color and lining, and a small grooming brush for brows and lashes.

➢ Avoid brushes that come with compact.

➢ Synthetic brushes are very soft while natural brushes are stiffer and hold
powder better. Synthetic ones are good to paint on liquid makeup, such as
concealer or foundation, and natural ones help blend in eyeshadow and
blusher.

SUNSCREEN : Absorbs the sun's damaging rays from within the skin.

SUNBLOCK: Acts as a physical barrier to the sun by reflecting its rays.

LOOKING GOOD

➢ Shop for greens – Studies have shown that a diet rich in carrots, leafy
greens, spinach, corn and fruits like apricots and peaches is good for the
eyes.

➢ Avoid direct sunlight – When outdoors wear a pair of sunglasses. Too much
blue light can increase the formation of harmful molecules, which damage
the retina.

➢ Avoid aspirin – Careless use of aspirin and the other anti-inflammatory

drugs like ibuprofen can cause tiny leaks in the blood vessels, leading to
macular degeneration.

Page No : 4
PARAMOUNT AIRWAYS BEAUTY TIPS

➢ Exercise – It improves the flow of blood along with valuable nutrients and
oxygen to your eyes.

➢ Stay away from smoke.

TRAVELLING LIGHT

Instead of carrying a bottle of shampoo and a second od conditioner use a two-in-

one brand – just for travelling. Carry a smaller bottle of shampoo-conditioner on
a short trip. Minimise make-up carry only eye-liner, eyeshadow duo, and one or
two tubes of lipstick. If you must have some foundation, use the powdered form
in a small compact with a mirror. Instead of carrying a razor along, why not have
your legs waxed right before your trip. Most haircuts are good for four to six
weeks.

TRICKS OF THE TRADE

➢ Apply a layer of moisturiser and eye cream before any makeup.

➢ Use a powder puff instead of a brush to apply loose powder. It blends more
easily into the skin.
➢ Prepare the lip with lip balm before applying lipstick; it makes the skin
smoother and helps the color to go on more evenly.
➢ To blend eyeshadow and tone down make-up that's been applied too
generously use translucent powder.

are tea tree and lavender. Apart from tea tree and lavender, dilute all other in
carrier oils. Such as sweet almond, jojoba or grape seed. Add two or three drops
of your chosen oil to five ml (1 tsp) carrier oil or base.

If you suffer from epilepsy, skin allergies or are pregnant consult a trained
aromatherapist before you start shopping for aromatherapy oils.
