What is ENCULTURATION?

Is the process by which a person adopts


the appropriate behavior that patterns
to the culture he lives in.

SOCIALIZATION
 The activity of mixing socially with others;
 The process of learning to behave in a way
that is acceptable to society.
In sociology, socialization is the process of
internalizing the norms and ideologies of
society. Socialization encompasses both learning
(develop human potential; good or bad) and
teaching.

IDENTITY FORMATION
Is the development of an individual’s distinct
personality which is regarded as a persisting entity
in a particular stage of life by which a person is
recognize.

• The sum of being’s knowledge
and understanding of his/
herself.

2.) CULTURAL IDENTITY


• Is one’s feeling of identity or
affiliation with a group or
culture.
3.) Ethnic Identity
• The identification with a certain ethnicity
usually on the basis of a presumed
common genealogy or ancestry.

4.) National Identity


• Is an ethical and philosophical concept
whereby all humans divided into groups.
5.) Religious Identity
• Is the set of beliefs and practices generally held by
an individual involving adherence to codified beliefs
and rituals.

 It is linked to particular situations and actions.
VALUES
 Standards that people use to decide what is
desirable, good and beautiful that fits in a
certain culture and serve as a guidelines for
social living.
