GLOBALIZATION

INTRODUCTION
• Globalization is derived from the word globalize
which refers to an international network of
economic system.
• It is the process in which people, ideas, and
goods spread through the world.
• It can also be described as the way in which
people and countries interact with each other.
• It refers to the integration of economic,
technological , socio-political factors of the world.
IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION
• For many developing nations, globalization has led to an
improvement in standard of living.
• Improved roads, transportation , health care and improved
education due to global expansion of corporations.
• Provides interconnectedness in all spheres of life thus making
communication and access to information a lot easier than before.
• We can see many of our products imported from outside the
country. Eg-clothes and shoes from China, Vietnam etc, mobile
phones from US, Korea etc.
• Majority of products we seen in our day to day life even vehicles
are also imported from overseas.
AIMS OF GLOBALIZATION

• It aims to speed up gowth of connection between nations.


• It is a multi-dimentional proccess which aims to have
contact and trade in markets,finance and technology.
• It is the practice used to import or export products or
even movements as well as cultural and political
phenomena.
• To make travels and access to other parts of the world
easier.
• To help develop slower developing nations and states by
financial aid and more.
TWO MAIN TYPES OF GLOBALIZATION

• TYPE 1 – Material or physical that is for


commodities ,cheap production and supply of
raw materials, etc.
• TYPE 2 – Im -meterial or financial is defined as
the global linkages through cross-border
financial flow, thus i.e the rise and fall foreign
money exchange rate.
TYPES OF GLOBALIZATION
• Economic globalization: It refers to trade between
nations in terms of commodities and services.Flow of
international capital and rapid worldsperad of
technologies.
• Cultural globalization: It is the influence or spreding of
ones cultural activities and observe and understand each
other and bring them together.
• Political globalization: It is growth of world wide political
system.Political contacts through nations ,creation of
UNITED NATIONS is one example of political globalization.
GLOBALIZATION IN PEACEFUL TERMS
• During WWII ,there was retreat in globalization.But still
globalization doesnt mean it can stop war as it is not similar with
peace treaty.
• Germany and Britain managed to have good trade until WWI.Still
after the war Britain still tried to have alliance with Germany.
• As there are so much trade between nations ,under these war
would be devastating for both economies.Since nations economic
balances can be disrupted.
• But still , arguing that globalization leads to war is a different
base. Still it is not evident that globalization sufficiently leads to
peace.
• Globalization is not a peaceful act but it acts as
it deals with world wide interconnectedness it
can be considered a safe development.
• Due to the effects of WWI,many nations
economy was falling, the global economy was
also falling apart,till it regained its health in the
1990’s . So it took almost a century to regain its
power.So we can say that war has huge impact
on globalization
ADVANTAGES OF GLOBALIZATION
• It will possibly reduce the rate of poverty.
• Access to variety of products from several nations.
• Observation and understanding of different culture and
traditions.
• Technological development and modern thinking as well as
faster media for modern knowledge.
• Binds the nations together through trade to prevent
themselves from going to war.And this maintains a peaceful
figure even in todays world.
• Connects and interacts with different culture and traditions.
DISADVANTAGES OF GLOBALIZATION
• It is the reason diseases transfer as people
carrying it travel from one place to another,
without knowing it.
• It causes resource consumption, by supplying
demands of other countries.
• Negative impact on environment as
globalization tends to have higher demand for
products leading to industrial wastages and
forest depletion etc.
CONCLUSION
Globalization has been going on for thousands
of years. The limit , always is the cost including
the risk involved in transport. The costs has
been decreasing and more and more goods will
be shipped and information and technological as
well as economy will flow with globalization and
will not end any time soon. It is a standard practice
and will continue to grow even more prevalent.
