PARTS OF A COMPUTER
• The parts of a computer
consist of input, output and
storage devices. All of these
devices are called
peripherals. Another term
for these devices that you
can see and touch is
hardware. Whilst software
refer to all the programs on a
computer.

The printer is an
OUTPUT device.
It produces
“hardcopy” output,
which is output on
paper.
EMBEDDED COMPUTERS
 An embedded system is a computer system designed to
perform one or a few dedicated functions. It is embedded as
part of a complete device often including hardware and
mechanical parts.
 Embedded systems control many devices in common use
today.
 Examples include:
1) Portable devices such as digital watches
2) MP3 players
3) Large stationary installations like traffic lights, factory
controllers, or the systems controlling nuclear power plants.
