Speaker : Prof Tushar Jana Dr Tushar Jana is a professor at School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad. Prof Tushar Jana received his Ph.D from Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science and has postdoctoral experience at University of Pittsburg and Rensselaer Polytechnic institute , New York. Research interests revolved around a number of themes in Polymer Chemistry and Material science and his current research is focused on 3 important areas 1 Polymer membranes 2. Polymeric nanoparticles and hydrogels 3. Polyurethanes He has published about 78 research articles in reputed peer reviewed journals, has 4 patents and 2,527 citations to his credit. 15 students are working with him currently and their group emphasizes on synthesis of complex macromolecular architectures and understanding their structure-property relationships, which are key in improving the polymer performance and designing new materials. They employ step-growth, emulsion, photo, radical and Reversible Addition- Fragmentation chain Transfer (RAFT) polymerization techniques to synthesize the newly designed polymers and utilize these synthesized polymers to develop polymeric membranes, core-shell nanostructures, nanocomposites, polymer gels, hydrogels and colloids etc. for their potential use in variety of applications which include fuel cell, water purification, gas separation, sensors, drug delivery, energetic polymers, coatings etc. International Webinar on Real World Applications of Nanomaterials 4th &5th Aug, 2020 Title : Polymer- Based Nanomaterials: Structural Diversities and Applications
