WHY IS IDAHOBIT
DAY IMPORTANT?

All over the world and throughout history

people who are attracted to the same sex
(lesbian, gay, bisexual) and people whose
gender identities are different (trans, intersex,
non-binary) have suffered from discrimination.

This stops people from feeling safe to be

themselves and can have a detrimental impact
upon their mental health.
WHY IS IDAHOBIT
DAY IMPORTANT?

IDAHOBIT Day stands for international day

against homophobia, biphobia, intersexphobia
and transphobia

These words refer to acts of discrimination

(bullying, harassment, missing out on
opportunities, and lack of rights) towards
people because of their sexuality or gender
WHY IS IDAHOBIT
DAY IMPORTANT?

Days like this provide us with the opportunity

to reflect, learn more about these issues, raise
awareness, and think about what we can do to
make sure everyone feels included, safe and
welcome

It is never okay to make someone feel unsafe

or left out because of their gender or sexuality
