 Uses of Legal Records in the court of law

• Legal records are used by the courts themselves.

• They are used by researchers and historians.
historians may use them for research topics other
than the law. Social historians may uncover a
great deal of incidental interest in the evidence
of witnesses. Wills and evidence in matters of
inheritance and family law may contain valuable
evidence for demographers, social historians
and genealogists.
• They are used to protect the rights of the
employee or citizens
• They are used to provide the right judgment
• They are used to detect other offenders

• They are used to detect habitual criminal\

EFFECDTS OF MISUSE OF LEGAL RECORDS

• Delay of information
If there is misuse of legal records information will
always be delayed because there will no
reference.
Poor service delivery
If legal records are not carefully handled they will
lead to poor service delivery because the officers
responsible will fail to get the documents needed
at the right time.

• There is a saying that says “in God we trust
but in human being bring records” therefore
if the records are misused the judgment that
will passed will not be fair and it will infringe
the rights of the citizens.

It is with no doubt that if legal records are
misused the decisions that will be made might
be biased.
