Lockstitch is so named because the two threads, upper and lower, "lock"

together in the hole in the fabric which they pass through. The term
"single needle stitching", often found on dress shirt labels, refers to
lockstitch.

Use of Lock stitch machine:

Neck join purpose (T-shirt ), Top stitch, etc.

• Pressure foot, Feed Plate, feed dog
• Feed plate having needle hole should be 30% larger than needle size.
• Teeth pitch 1.3 to 1.6---Medium weight fabrics
• Teeth Pitch 1.0 to 1.25—light weight
• Teeth Pitch 2.5 MM -----Coarser Fabrics
