 History Of
Daffodil International University

The name of our university is Daffodil International University .

That is a co-educational private university located in Dhanmondi ,
Dhaka , Bangladesh. It was established on 24 January 2002 under the
Private University Act, 1992. DIU is the first university in Bangladesh to
have signed the UN's Commitment to Sustainable Practices of Higher
Education Institutions.

International University. He is a

Bioghraphy
• Md. Sabur Khan was born at 23 January 1965 in Chandpur district. Md.
Sabur Khan passed HSC exam from Chandpur Govt. College and
complete masters from Jahangirnagar University. He determined to
contribute his knowledge, experience and strength in IT & Education area.
During his 22 years of career, Mr. Khan has established different wings, one
by one, under the large shade of Daffodil Group; like: Daffodil Computers
Ltd. A Public Listed Company which was his first venture, Daffodil Software
Ltd., Web & E-Commerce, Multimedia Ltd., JobsBD.com, Computer Clinic,
Daffodil Foundation. He also established wings like: International
Professional Training Institute, Bangladesh Skill Development Institute,
Institute of IT, International School, International College & International
University.
 Green Campus
DIU Green Campus is a movement, the first of its kind in Bangladesh, which was
launched in 2002 by the Daffodil International University (DIU). The initiatives of this
movement are an important campaign to shape up our university as a model
environmental community where academic programs and environmentally responsible
behavior by all stakeholders go hand in hand. This movement aims to promote eco-
friendly ‘green projects’ in order to ensure greener, cleaner, safer and healthier campus to
work and live.
• DIU received the ‘Beautification Award’ in 2006 from the Honorable Prime Minister of
Bangladesh.
• DIU, through its green projects generates commendable social and ecological
impacts.
• DIU encourages all of its stake holders to do the same and it creates chain reaction.

 Our Campuses
• The university has multiple campuses within Dhaka. The main campus is
located in Dhanmondi, the permanent campus is in Asulia and another
campus is located in Uttara,
• In our university, there are 20K(+) students. In those, almost 15K
Undergraduates and others are postgraduates.
