Moot Court on Decided Cases
The moot-courts may be organised of decided cases also. A
particular case decided by a court of law may be selected and a
group of law- students may be engaged for and on the side of the
decided case, while the other group of law-students may be
engaged against the ruling of the court.

Each group of law students should
submit written submission and counter
the arguments of the other side of the
parties. Each group may be given
reasonable time to represent its side in
its favour.
Preparation by the students
The law-students will attend law libraries to consult law books
and legal journals to support their points of view. The law-
students will enable themselves to find out the ratio decidendi of
the case and examine its validity. Thereby the law-students will
derive conclusions for correct decisions.
Criticism of the Judgment
The mooters will criticise the judgment of the case in a decent
manner and on reasonable grounds. The mooters will be required
to use soft and decent language during arguments. The criticism
of the judge should be limited to his decision only but not about
his conduct, otherwise it will amount to be a case of contempt of
court.
Moot-Court on Specific Topic
Moot courts may be arranged on specific legal topics. The law-
students may be asked to collect materials and submit written
statements and explain arguments of their cases. The law-
students may be put to answer questions by the teachers in the
moot courts.
Procedure what may be adopted
The law-students may be divided into two different groups in the
mooting and each group of law students will collect materials for
its side and prepare arguments in its favour. Each group of law-
students will be required to speak and explain their written
argument in the moot court.
Preparation by the students
The law-students will be required to visit libraries to consult
books. Law journals and periodicals for preparing their
arguments and developing professional skill. In this way , the
mooters will get opportunity to develop their legal skill,
knowledge and practice before they attend the Bar to start law-
profession in due course.
