– Emilio Aguinaldo established a dictatorial government and installed himself as
the dictator
– June 12 1898 (Kawit, Cavite) the declaration of the Philippine independence
– May 1 1898 the Spanish colonial rule was defeated in the battle of Manila Bay
during the Spanish – American War.
– The Spanish government ceded the Philippines to the United States in 1898
after the payment of 20 million dollar by the latter to the former by virtue of
the treaty of Paris signed on December 10 1898.
