 Location of the tariff subheading:
To locate the tariff subheading for your product, you should
consult the customs tariff at the DIAN

 Registration as an exporter:
The Single Tax Registry (RUT) is the only
mechanism to identify, locate and classify the
subjects of obligations administered and controlled
by the DIAN

 Market study and location of potential demand:

Exporting requires initially a market selection, where the
specific characteristics of the country or region where you
want to export are determined.

 Good Viewing Procedures:

It is important that you ask if your product requires prior
approval and/or permits for export authorization.
Customs procedures for clearance before the DIAN:

You can do this directly if your export is worth less than

USD10,000. If it is greater than this amount, you must carry
out this procedure through a Customs Agency, which is
authorized by the DIAN.

Commercial invoice.
Packing List (if required).
Sanitary Registrations (if required by the product).
Transport document.
Other documents required for the product to be exported
 Means of payment:
It is important to consider how your customer will
pay for the export.

 Exchange procedures (currency refunds)

All exports generate the obligation of reimbursing the
foreign currency through the exchange intermediaries
(commercial banks and other financial entities).
Therefore, exporters must sell the foreign currency to
these intermediaries, for which the form Exchange
Declaration No. 2 must be claimed and filed with this
entity.
