ABSTRACT
The objective of the construction of a power house for Butwal
‘Tinau’ hydropower project is to design a hydroelectric plant
utilizing optimal energy in the water, with minimum submergence
and economic costs, considering seasonal variation in power
generation to meet the region’s demand during all seasons. Both
the primary and secondary method were used for data
collections. The primary method like personal interview, oral
questionnaire, survey conduction and secondary method to find
out the resources available, geographical features and
hydrological features and environmental problem which may
arise during and after the construction of power house
Methodology
The construction of power plant soley depends on the gegographic, flow of
water,hydrological features,natural resources available,population of the region.
Only with these information the size, type of the power plant and the budget
required to the construction can be determined So,in order to collect the
necessary data and information the following method were applied.
1. Primary method:
Visting the site 60 locals are interviewed in order to know
about the available water resource. Three engineers surveyed the region to find
out the geographical features and to know about the possible area to construct
power house. With the help of geologists, possible landslide occurring area are
known. During the site visit, availability of rock and sand are known which may
be useful during contruction and local people are informed about the
construction
2. Secondary Method:
In order to study the hydrological features of the
area, detailed study of water availability, flood level, collection of
historical data and meterological data through the different research
articles and online source is done and population of the region is found
out through different census reports. Different power houses present
are studied and possible errors are eliminated
