William Shakespeare was born and raised in
Stratford-upon-Avon. was an English playwright and poet, considered the greatest writer in English literature and nicknamed “Bard of Avon“. Shakespeare began a successful career in London as an actor, writer and owner of a part of a theater company called "The Lord Chamberlain's Men", later known as "King's Men". Shakespeare wrote most of his known works between 1589 and 1613. His early plays were mainly comedies and or historical dramas, genres that he raised to the point of maximum refinement and art until the end of the sixteenth century. After that, before about 1608, he wrote especially tragedies, including the famous Hamlet, King Lear and Macbeth, considered some of the most brilliant works in English.
