2 Policy
Make sure that you’re punctual.
Start and end class on time, don't be late, never leave class
early.
• A: Punctuality You need time to enter the classroom , do remember to log
in 30min before the class starts, especially for your first
class.
• Please don’t be late.
• 1$ per minute as penalty.
• more than 3 mins, no pay and class fee deducted [depends on your hourly rate].

• B: Full 25min / 50 minute Lessons


• If teacher ends the class earlier,1$ per minute.
• If the teacher ends a class 3 mins earlier or more,
then no pay and class fee deducted [depends on your hourly rate].

Affected classes
Teachers should check their facility & internet and make sure they can complete the cla
sses successfully. If due to the teacher's facility or internet problems he or she has to c
ancel the booked classes, the following shall apply: 

- First occurrence:
There will be no penalties or warnings, but the teacher will not get paid for the affected
classes.

- Starting from the second occurrence:


No class fee shall be paid, and one class fee will be deducted for each affected class, a
s compensation. 
If a class is canceled within 2 hours (before the class starts) due to absence or facility/i
nternet problems on the students’ end, the teacher will still be paid for their online time. 

If a teacher uses the wrong lesson PPT, then the teacher will get one warning and no p
ayment for this wrong lesson.
C: Absence or Leave Effective on
Feb 2019

Teachers are supposed to complete the classes scheduled for them in each semest
er. Otherwise, there will be affected classes, which will result in some class fee ded
uction as compensation for the class.

If teachers have travel or other plans, for which they inform their respective person
s-in-charge before the Semester starts,(TL) then there will be no affected classes (no
penalties).
 

Teachers are given ONE free request for leave during a whole semester (no penalti
es or warnings, even with the affected classes). Leave applications should be subm
itted at least 7 days in advance. 

Penalties and Warnings may apply to any other leave, the compensation for which
will be $30/time/day. (If no classes are affected, then there will be no penalty).
Absence or Leave
Why so strict? Dent ss enthusiasm, school client bad influence.
May even let you lose this course.
In most cases, we'll schedule teachers' classes beforehand affected classes
1. Complete the Leave Application form found in the portal

2. Email the completed application to the team email for approval, CC your TL.

E: Complaint & Termination

If a teacher receives 3 or more complaints in a month regarding but not limited to the following problems,
a possible termination or suspension will be observed, and $5 will be deducted for each complained class:

1.Being late or giving a class less than 25min


2.Classes affected due to teacher's absence or leave
3.Classes affected due to laptop /Internet problems on teachers end
4.Unprofessional behavior such as eating or answering phone calls in class
5.Failure to use the teaching software proficiently Please learn how to use ClassIn

6.Using wrong teaching materials You can tell us in the Dingtalk if there's something wrong with the materials

7.Unsatisfying teaching performance TRL will follow up with this and have a talk with you.

1. SUBMIT WORK AS REQUESTED and per DEADLINES


2. Follow basic directions from HR and TLs.
3. PUT STUDENTS FIRST
4. Refresh portal during shift to check for changes in your daily
schedule.
5. Be prepared to substitute.
6. Run a quick equipment test before your daily 1st class
A. Before classes
•. Enter classroom at least 2 minutes before class starts. As we all
know, classes must begin and end on time. If you just click to enter classroom
exactly at the expected class time, it will take another minute or two to load which
means if students cannot see you by then, they will think teacher is late.

•. Sign in to team group before your shift starts to keep your TL&HR
posted that you are ready for work, so they won’t need to arrange substitute
teachers for your classes.
• Fixed schedule- report attendance 15mins before shift starts
• Part time- report attendance 15 mins before first class
B. During classes
How to report class issues?
Click the “HELP” button in your portal and submit the issue.
Click But if portal fails, pls report in your Dingtalk group instead.

Wait for your HR’s feedback. Modify and adjust to the best of your
Wait ability.

OR announce in Dintalk team.


C. After classes

2. Teacher guidelines
Unprofessional behaviour in class
 Sleeping/ yawning/ lying down /eating during class
 Using Chinese to teach in class

 Unprofessional gestures or facial expressions during class


(play phones & talk to others & check facebook...)

 Too harsh to the students (yelling/shouting)

 Use of Obscene/ Profane language in the classroom / to any co-


worker.

 Discussing Salary with anyone outside of HR

 Maliciously spreading rumours or maliciously convincing other teachers


to participate in work stoppage;
 Leading a strike conducted in violation of law which results in great
financial loss or damage to the company’s reputation;
 Maliciously encouraging teachers to resign.

Other procedures

1. Complaint from Client - regarding lesson delivery, feedback,


professional behaviour, lesson taught, under-time, late start.
2. Unsatisfactory Work delivery – regarding creating lesson plans, class
methodology, class room procedures,
3. A breach of confidentiality will result in termination.
a) All salaries are confidential and are not to be discussed any person
outside of HR.
b) All Waijiaoyi lesson products are proprietary and Unique to
Waijiaoyi. Distributing lesson materials, lesson plans or
methodology outside of the company can result in termination.
Violation will results in warning or termination.
3. Resignation procedure

 If a teacher wishes to resign, he/she must provide 30


Days Advanced Notice

 Submit resignation letter to team email

 A penalty of 20% of monthly pay will be deducted from


Teacher's final payment if he/she fails to do so.
