RIGHTS OF TRANSGENDERS

INTRODUCTION

 Difference between “being human” and


“human being”.
 The population of transgender people has
estimated by Pakistan documentary which is
over 10,000.
 Don’t they have the “right to live” in this
society or world! They have.
PROBLEMS

 Problems like poverty, harassment ,bullying,


suicide attempts, self-harm and many more.
 Status of transgenders in Pakistan is that much
low that they are beaten up badly in public.
 They lack education, job opportunities, respect,
fundamental rights of health and safety and
social respect.
 Third gender people are in fact compelled to
beg, dance or work as a prostitute to earn
money.
 A lot of trans people die in hospitals due to not
getting treatment on time.
 In November 2016, Saudia government banned
transgender people to get visa to perform
“UMRAH” at Makkah.
CLOSURE

 They should be given equal basic rights as all


citizens.
 There should be addition and rectification in
the previous laws which weren’t paid much
attention.
 Education, health, jobs and safe houses
facilities should be provided.
 Some positive moves are considered as
“Transgender Person Bill 2017” by our
government.
 Primary schools for third gender people are
constructed, which is a new hope to the trans
community.
 Under the Transgender Person(Protection of
rights)Act 2018, they may have their gender
identity of choice reflecting by their documents
including NIC, passport etc.
 Transgender people will be no more deprived
of the right to vote or to run for office, the Act
obligates the government to establish
protection centers and safe houses.
