HOW PERSONALITY TRAITS AND

ATTITUDES, MORAL
DEVELOPMENT, AND THE
SITUATION AFFECT
ETHICAL BEHAVIOR?
MORAL DEVELOPMENT

• Preconventional
• The individual's self-interest
motivates unethical behavior
for rewards.
• Reward-punishment.
• Conventional
• In this concept, the person is a follower and copies the behavior of
others and the leader, therefore, if the leader or the group behaves
unethically, they will do the same.
• Postconventional
• This behavior is more intrinsic to the person, it is motivated by universal
principles of good or evil, quite independently of what a group does or the
leader does. There is a Balance between what you want and what you should
don’t do.
