• allows its users to transform columns into rows and rows into
columns
• allows grouping by any data field
Creating a PivotTable
• The Shipping Workbook contains a large volume of
information about the products that were shipped by XYZ LLC
in the past several months. Your manager has requested a
report to review the total quantity of the product that Anne
sold that were shipped in the month of January, sorted by
company. Since you are confident that your manager might
have a similar request for information on other salespersons
as well, you decide to create a PivotTable report to easily
extract the information without constantly having to rearrange
the data by sorting and re-creating formulas.
Requirements
• Create a PivotTable report of sales by each salesperson and shipped date
• Change the column label in the PivotTable report to ‘Total quantity sold’
by using the values field settings dialog box
• Create a filter to group the PivotTable by salesperson and then display
products that Anne Dodsworth sold
• Display products that Anne Dodsworth sold that were shipped in the
month of January
• In the PivotTable report display the names of the companies to which the
products were being shipped
• Display the subtotals in a separate row at the bottom of each group and
format the PivotTable report
