Materials
• Wire gauge # 16
• Wire gauge # 14
• Long Nose
• Modeling clay
Instruction: Armature
I. Using the Wire Map align the #16 gauge wire. Tip: Its best to have at
least 2 to 3 inches allowance.
II. Bend the wire at the middle. Hold using a long nose or pliers an inch
or less at the middle and twist the lower portion until you reach the
hip
III. Bend the wire to follow the alignment of the hips and leg of the wire
map. Optional to bend the tip of the leg to create the feet or create a
loop to serve as a stand for the maquette
IV. Cut another # 16 gauge wire to create the shoulder and arms of your
maquette. Follow the Wire Map and twist the end to create the
hands.
V. Using the # 14 wire tie and twist to connect shoulders and body. Use
also the # 14 wire to loop around the entire maquette body.
Instruction: Filling
in the Clay
• For Arm and Legs: Create log-like
shape and push in the armature
• For Chest and Hip: Create a
squarish box and push in the
armature.
• For the Head: Create an egg
shape and push on the head area.
• For Hands: Create small circular
clay and flatten at the hand area
of the armature.
