NULL-PICOVOLTMETER AS A DEVICE FOR MAGNETIC

SUSCEPTIBILITY MEASUREMENTS

We describe ananalog magnetometer based on a highly sensitive null-picovoltmeter[1] in which


the principle of converting low dc voltage into an ac signal via superconducting switching isused.

Experimental setup: 1– sample; 2 – sample


holder; 3 – vacuum chamber; 4 –
superconducting inductance coil; 5 –
superconducting coil; 6 – superconductor
switcher; 7 – calibrated normal resistance; 8 –
low-temperature transformer; 9 – low-
frequency-signal generator; 10 –
superconductor switcher control circuit; 11 –
amplification and signal detection circuit; 12 –
highly-stabilized current source.

Paramagnetic and diamagnetic response of the self-


induction EMF of the samples (~1 mm 3 in volume)
with the different signs of the magnetic
susceptibility. Ferrite is a ferromagnet, FeSe –
superconductor.

Calculated sensitivity
