• BladeModeler consists of three components:


– BladeGen
• Initial Sizing Tools
– Vista AFD
– Vista CCD
– Vista CPD
– Vista RTD
• Blade design for a single stage
– DesignModeler
• CAD tool to add additional features to blade
• Fillets, blade trimming, shroud covers
• Generation of fluid volume
• Creation of scrolls, housings, volutes, etc.
– BladeEditor
• Eventual replacement for BladeGen
– Many functions available in BladeGen now available in BladeEditor
• DesignModeler add-on that provides seamless geometry connection
between BladeGen and DesignModeler
• Blade designs of multiple stages can be created at once

• BladeEditor
– DesignModeler Add-In
• Create bladed components
– Create meridional flow path for multiple stages
– Create blades for multiple stages
• Eventually all BladeGen functionality will be migrated to BladeEditor
• Some parameters can be exposed in Workbench for design
exploration/optimization
• Provides geometry connection between BladeGen and DesignModeler
• Allows for the import of multiple BladeGen models into one DesignModeler
session
• Allows for easy editing of blade geometry
• Components from another CAD source can be imported and combined with
blade geometry (i.e. A volute)
