 1. Introduction
Smart Home – is define as a convenience home setup
where appliances & devices are automatically
controlled remotely from anywhere through internet
connection using mobile or other networked devices.
To build this smart home, smart devices are used
during automation of the home. these devices are
embedded in the home to give their purpose for
lighting, energy, heating, air conditioning, and for
security issues. But these devices are expensive in cost
and it needs investment. So this work reviews the low
cost smart home automation system by using internet
of Things(IoT).
 2. Objective
The importance of reviewing the article is
• To know the contribution to users
• To identify the gap of the work.
• To know the approach which is used to solve the
problem & to see another alternative approach.
• To identify more effective & efficient smart devices
in terms of performance, cost , time & others.
• To indicate another approach for future researcher
with minimum cost strategy in our country context
 3. State of Art
Besides the comfortable of smart home to people
day to day life in controlling and monitoring the
home objects through internet using IoT, there is a
challenge in the cost of equipment which embed to
the home, its reliance on internet, its dependency
on professionals. So solving this problem provides
to smart home to more suitable for people specially
for disable people, and to professionals & non
professionals.
 4. Design approach
The methods used to solve the stated problem is
using Internet of Things device which is used to
reduce the cost of building by smart devices such as
DHT11 for temperature control, RFID for security
door, pulse sensor for heart beat measure, &
others. The system designed in such away resulted
in implemented easily & secured and portable. The
author explore and control home appliances or
devices with the help of internet connection using
IoT.
 5. The Critics
Strong Side
Smart home automation using IoT has been
established to work suitably by connecting simple
and low-cost, effective & efficient appliances to
control remotely through the Internet. The
appliance installed on smart home is low cost and
accessed remotely and in addition it is easy and
simple to access for elderly, people with disabilities
and better quality of life.
Weak side
The drawback in automating smart home using IoT
is
. The system is reliance on internet connection
. The system depends on professionals to operate.
. Gap of privacy
. Perceive complexity(i.e. some people have
difficulty with technology)
 6. Conclusion and Future Work
Conclusion
In this work, the primary focus is on developing a
technology which provides a cost-effective solution to
smart home automation. As we know smart home make
people life simple and easy and confortable, since it is
managed with help different technological products. But
the cost of its equipment losses its demand because of
high investment. But thanks to the rapid growing
technology, people can build smart home by selecting
more cost effective and efficient smart devices.
Recommendation
As I explained in the weak side, i.e. the system is
reliance on internet, dependency on professionals,
privacy gap and perceiving complexity when they
automate. There fore, besides of its cost effectivity
and efficiency, future researcher should consider
and understand these problems to improve
specially in energy consumption in our country.
