Biographie

• He born on June 1 at 1851 on the city of


Cartagena, Spain.
• He died on May 22 at 1895 (43 years old) on the
city of Berlin, Germany of the cause of a cancer.
• He was different occupations like inventor, diver,
engineer and military.
• He has two brothers, Pedro and Manuel.
• On January 9, 1860, a request to Queen Elizabeth
II, which granted young Isaac, just eight years
old, the title of Marine aspiring.
• He had an intense career in the Spanish Navy.

• Isaac Peral became, in 1888, the inventor of the first


battery-powered submarine.

Navy in 1866 and
there he acquired
extensive technical
training that
allowed him to
reach various
positions.
An extraordinary success

• In this work by Comba, Isaac Peral appears waving from


the balcony of a hotel to the crowd that receives him
enthusiastically. It is from 1890, two years after he
presented his brand new invention. The submarine had
managed to navigate 9 kilometers underwater and hit a
target 300 meters away.
