About Dawaer
 Dawaer foundation is a non-governmental, not for profit, non- partisan organization
established in 2015 by a team of motivated activists who build on their extensive
diverse experiences to reach a democratic peaceful society respectful of human rights.

 Vision:
A society where youth and children are resilient and protected from violence.
 Mission:
Dawaer is committed to increasing the resilience of children and youth through
promoting their rights and empowering them and mobilizing their critical thinking to
become responsible global citizens who are capable of expressing themselves freely
and be agents of change.
Dawaer works with educational institutions, families and communities to enhance child
and youth rights and freedom of expression and protect youth from violence. Dawaer
also works with decision makers to lobby for laws that enhance youth and human
rights.

 Empowering youth and building their resilience against hate speech and
violent extremism
 Empowering youth to become central actors and key multipliers in
preventing, reporting and critically responding to violent and
discriminatory narratives
 Enhance caregivers’ capacity to ensure better child physical, mental,
moral and social development
 Enhance the resilience of children and caregivers through offering
individual and group psychosocial support.

“Human Rights and Conflict
Resolution” for 20 MOSA staff
 Capacity development of 20 staff at the Ministry of Social Affairs development
centers who are in direct contact with children and youth, on implementing
interactive activities that enhance human right concepts and values and
encourages self-expression and achieve a change on the attitude level. The
training focused on raising the awareness of staff on the impact of bullying
and how to sensitize children on the topic using interactive activities.
“Human Rights and Conflict Resolution” for
social workers in coordination with MUBS
and Teach for Lebanon
 Campaign to promote Child rights implemented by Dawaer in coordination
with the Modern University for Business and Science ,Teach for Lebanon and
Sunbula in Majdal Anjar for Syrian Children. A capacity development was
conducted for 25 social workers on enhancing human right concepts and
values and encourages self-expression through interactive activities and
games.
Psychosocial Support Program
 Enhance the resilience and provide psychosocial support to
children, adults and Ex-prisoners in communities where
needs are unmet and have different serious social
problems through providing a total of 9 2-hour sessions;
3 sessions on free expression
2 sessions expression through art therapy
2 sessions on role play (Gestalt therapy)
2 sessions on positivity (CBT: cognitive behavioral
therapy)
“New Media Youth”

 “New Media Youth” aims at enhancing media information


literacy among youth in the areas of Qubayyat and Kfar
Zabad through creating MIL clubs that are managed by
youth and work on disseminating media literacy, peace
building and respect for diversity through using peer to
peer approach.

“Alternative Media Youth in Qaa”

 “Alternative Media youth” aims at enhancing media


information literacy and developing the critical thinking of
youth between 16-22 to produce alternative positive and
peaceful media messages that promote peace building and
respect for diversity among youth in the area of Qaa.
“Human Rights in Action” in Qaa
 “Human Rights in Action” aims at empowering Lebanese
and Syrian youth in Qaa to promote human right values
and peace building through interactive activities and
games.
Creation of an online directory of female film professionals
in the Maghreb-Mashreq region & Advocacy for the promotion
of gender equality in the film industry of Arabic expressions

 The project aims at promoting non-stereotyped female


representation in films through mobilizing CSOs in the
Mashreq and Maghreb countries to advocate for gender
equality and freedom of expression in the film sector.
  The project is conducted in partnership with Fe-Male and
is funded by UNESCO – EU- UN Women- Sweden- ALESCO-
SUD
