PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
PROBLEM SOLUTION

◦ Oil prices are expected to double to $200 a ◦ using wind power that can reduce by 10% to
barrel by 2030 as the supply falls 35%
◦ skysails rely on computers and sensors to
determine the most effective way to capture
wind power
◦ being controlled remotely so the good winds
are present
EVOLUTION OF SAILING
 - The primary type of sailing ship was the square-rigger.
is designed to have the wind push on it from the back and propel the boat forward.
As technology improved , sails began to be cut differently into the more familliar triangular
shape.
the material also changed from natural fabrics like hemp and cotton to nylon and polyester.
it wasnt actually anything to do with the sail that caused the massive change from square
riggers to modern boats with more points of sail.
OPINION OF EVOLUTION OF SAILING

The industrial revolution and the modern world it resulted in

changed the way humans do everything. Seriously. Everything from
what we eat, to where we work, to what we wear, to how we get
around. Think about it the device you are using to read this blog.
Think about the electricity that powers your home and refrigerator.
Most—if not every part—of our lives is completely dependent and
intertwined with the energy provided by fossil fuels.
