 Phonetics is a basic branch of linguistics, which deals with
speech sounds and studies the outer form of the language

 Phonetics is the study of speech sounds and their physiological


production and acoustic qualities. It deals with the
configurations of the vocal tract used to produce speech sounds,
the acoustic properties of speech sounds and the manner of
combining sounds so as to make syllables, words, and sentences

 Phonetics is concerned with the human noises, by which the


thought is actualized or given audible shape: the nature of these
noises, their combinations, and their functions in relation to
meaning
